NO. 1 DISTRICT
The depot at North-east Valley continues to be of service to the district, and, although tho amount of bugingss transacted is much smaller than in the winter time, this is all to the good. The children’s footwear is much in demand at present, whilst the orders for wood, and coal are still fairly numerous. It is pleasing to report that lime and fertiliser will be procurable at the corporation yard in Calder avenue at an early date. The executive begs to acknowledge receipt of the following:—? Parcels from Messrs Mowat and Co., Thomson and Barnett; lewt potatoes from “A■Friend”; 5s from primary department Opoho Sunday school for coal. The Saturday night social hour continues to attract a large number. The Social Committee acknowledges receipt of gifts and refreshments from Messrs Fairbairn, Wright, and Co.; Cadbury Fry and Hudson; the Bell Tea Company; and Barth’s Electrical ComS. Passes are also gratefully ackedged from the Empire and Strand Theatres.
