(G.lO a.m.), 749 tons, M'Kcnzio, from Wanganui via Wellington. Holmdale, s.s. (10.25 a.m.), 681 tons, Copland, from Wanganui via ports. The Storm and Holmdale arrived this morning from Wellington. Both vessels are loading out for the north. 'The Holmdale goes to Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui, and thy Stxvm to the same ports, with the excepnim of "Qamaru. The Japanese motor ship Melbourne Mam, en route'from Japan, has been further delayed, and now leaves Geelong on September 7 for Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on September 13. The Bank Lino motor ship Comliebank, 5,149 tons, left Trinidad on July 14 xia St. Vincent for Auckland, Wanganui, Fremantle, and Geralclton. She should reach Auckland about the end of September. The steamer Orcpuki is due at Wellington next Wednesday from Nelson, where she has been undergoing overhaul. She is to sail the same day for southern ports. Owing to the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Wellington having been delayed in Australia, her loading itinerary dates in New Zealand have been revised. She now loads at Bluif, commencing on September 12, thence Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, New Plymouth, and Auckland, and leaves Auckland on September 28 for London via Cape Horn. A radio from the Opihi .states that she Will arrive at Dunedin from Westport at niidnight. She discharges coal hero to-morrow, and on AVednesday she loads general cargo, and sails the same day for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, New Plymouth, and AVestport. The Poolta left Gisborne.on Saturday afternoon for-, Dunedin, where she is due to-morrow to load for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, AVellington, Napier, and Gisborne. She sails for the north the same day. ‘ The AA’aipiata leaves Auckland cu Thursday of this week for AVellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff, and is duo hero on September 7. THE CANADIAN CHALLENGER. The Canadian National steamer Canadian Challenger, was scheduled to clear Montreal on Saturday for Auckland, AA’ellington, Lyttelton, and Dun-, edin. She is duo at Auckland about October 7. CUT OF DELHI LEAVES NEAV YORK. The City of Delhi lelft New York on August 19, Newport News on August 22. for Auckland. Lino motor ship Port Fremantle is to leave London on September 28 ’ for Suva, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due at Lyttelton about November 14. ARDENVOHR AT AUCKLAND. The A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer Ardcnvobr, from New York, arrived at Auckland yesterday. The vessel’s cargo is for discharge at Auckland, AA’ellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australia. PHOSPHATE CHARTERS. Antigone, 4,545 tons, Nauru or Ocean Island to Australian or New Zealand ports. Speybank, 5,154 tons. Nauru _ or Ocean Island to Australian or New Zealand ports. WARNING TO NAVIGATION. A warning to master mariners is issued by the Naval authorities at Auckland that gunnery practice will bo carried out in the vicinity of Flat Rock, llanraki Gulf, from September 1 to S (inclusive). Night practice will be

carried out during the latter part of the term. TAINUI FROM LONDON. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner Tainui is to sail from London on September 7 and Southampton oh September 9 for Wellington and Lyttelton. She.is duo at Wellington'about October 17. CAPE TOWN’S NEW HARBOUR. It is claimed that the largest vessel afloat or contemplated could bo berthed in Cape Town’s new harbour. A quay 2,400 ft long, with a depth at the seaward end of 36ft at low water ordinary spring tides, has been completed, and five new berths are now available for average-sized steamers or for a lesser number of large liners. CARGO FROM LIVERPOOL. The C. and D. Line motor ship Port Dunedin is to sail from Liverpool on September 17 for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is duo at Auckland about October 24. TRANSHIPMENT CARGOES. The Union Company advises the following movements of steamers carrying transhipment cargoes:— The Totara left Wellington on Saturday afternoon for Lyttelton and Dunedin with cargo cx Port Hobart from New York. She is due here to-morrow afternoon, and after discharge will load general cargo for , Wellington via Timaru, sailing hence on Wednesday. The Knbnai leaves Wellington tomorrow with cargo from Pacific Coast ports ex Waihemo. She discharges at Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff, being due here on Thursday. A FAMOUS MAST. An interesting fact lias just been revealed concerning the Eastern and Australian liner Nankin. The aftermast of the vessel, which was formerly in the P. and 0. Eastern mail service, was the mast added to the P. and O. liner Medina, to fly the Royal Standard when King George V. travelled to India to attend the great durbar of December, 1911. When the Medina returned to England in 1912, the Nankin was under construction, and the roast, which was no longer necessary in the temporary Royal yacht, was fitted into the new ship. SHIP SALES. Canadian Explorer.—This steamer, oue of the Canadian-built standard B type, with two docks, 8,341 tons d.w., built Halifax Shipyards Ltd., N.S., 1921, and owned by Canadian Explorer Ltd. (Canadian National Steamships),' Alontreal, has been sold to Italian buyers, subject dry-docking only_ and with delivery Halifax, for about £5,500. The Canadian. Commander, another B typo, has also been disposed of, but subject to inspection. It will be recalled that in April last two of these vessels were sold for £II,OOO, delivery Halifax, with survey passed, but were refused on inspection. Thus, assuming that the survey will bring the cost to the present purchaser up to £B,OOO, we get a measure of the depreciation which has occurred in this typo within three months, states the ‘ Syren and Shipping.’ . , Tarcoola, steel steamer, one deck and shade deck, 4.813 tons d.w., built Tyne Iron Shipbuilding Company, Newcastle, 1902, S.S. 2nd, No. 3, 1926, owned by the Adelaide Steamship Company Ltd., Adelaide, has been sold to Australian Tramp Steamers Ltd.
