Those in charge of the Mosgiel relief depot have arranged for a special ! picture night to-morrow at the Coronation Hall, Mosgiel, to provide boots ! and blankets for needy cases in the 1 area under the committee's jurisdiction. ! The appeal is urgent, and it is to be hoped that the response will be good. The concert to-morrow night for the relief funds of No. 3 district should be 1 well attended as an excellent programme has been arranged by Dr V. Vj. Galway. Many of the leading artists having generously gives their services. There will be no booking, and admission to all parts is Is. The Port Chalmers Unemployed Association has decided to hold another old-time dance on AVednesday, August 24. The dance just over proved such a wonderful success that the committee has decided to hold one each month. The same careful preparations will again be carried out with further improvements. The controlling bodies deserve every credit for the manner in which they carried out such a huge i undertaking, and Port Chalmers resi- ' dents will bo able to look forward to a dance each month. No effort is being spared to further improve the floor, nnd supper will be obtainable. The proceeds of the dances will go to the j local unemployment relief funds.
