C.R.F.L. EXECUTIVE The weekly meeting of the Otago Rugby Football League Executive was held-last evening. Mr T. M. Gillies presided. The Linwood Club (Christchurch) advised that it intended to pay all expenses in connection with the visit of its first-grade team to, Dunedin to play against the City team for the Gore Cup. The Otago Rugby League would not be held responsible for any debts that might bo incurred. The team would arrive in Dunedin on Friday evening.—lt was decided to agree to the match being played on * the League’s Oval ground on the conditions outlined by the Linwood Club. The secretary was instructed to communicate with Mr F. Percy and ask him to referee the match. Messrs G. M'Crae and F. Sims were appointed line umpires.
It was decided that in view of the challenge match between Linwood and City next Saturday’s club games (Maxwell Cup competition) be postponed until Saturday. August 13. Mr G. M'Crae drew attention to the fact that last Saturday’s games were started very late. It was nearly 2.30 before the teams assembled on the playing areas at the Stadium and Chisholm Park.—lt was decided to instruct the delegates to take steps to see that the teams took the field at the appointed time in all future games.
