Between October, 1923, and September, 1930, 66,717 men offered themselves for tha British Army. Fifty-two per cent, of tfiesa men could not be accepted owing to their inferior physical condition. The British War Office has offered a fourteen-years’ lease of sev<yi acres of Staddon Heights, a Devon beauty spot, to tha Plympton fSt. Mary Kural District Council at the nominal rent of £1 per annum.
