(Received June 25. at 11 a.m.) Mr Joe Jacobs, manager for Schmelnig, was indefinitely suspended to-day by the New York State Athletic; Commission both as a manager and as a second to boxers for his action in protesting against the decision in awarding the title to Sharkey. Mr Jacobs alleged that Schmoling had been robbed of the fight by unfair officials appointed by the commission. Mr (“ Gunboat ”) Smith, the referee, was complimented by the commission on bis handling of the affair. While condemning Jacobs, the commissioner (Mr Muldoon) was enthusiastic in his praise of Sehmeling, both as a boxer and a gentleman, and said that the Gorman was a credit to the ring.
