OAMARU RACES

The Winter Meeting of the Oamaru Jockey Club will be held on Saturday next, the first race being a Hack and Hunters’ Steeplechase, llusovs, 2m. This race has drawn a very good field of jumpers, and should provide an interesting race. The principal event on the programme is the Grange Handicap, loOsovs, Ini, which has attracted some of the best horses from Riccurton and Wingatui. The Winter Hack Handicap, 120sovs, Tim, has also drawn a good field. A Novice Race, SOsovs, sf, two light-harness events, and the Farewell Hack Handicap, 90sovs, 6f, complete the programme. The first race will start at 12.15, and the Oamaru Municipal Band will bo in attendance. The club is again making its charges popular ones, the admission to all parts of the ground being ss. The Railway Department is making special arrangements for the meeting, and all country trains and buses will be delayed in order to fit in with the conclusion of the meeting.
