ORPHANS' CLUB
There was an exceptionally good attendance of members at the fortnightly session of the Dunedin Orphans’ Club held last night in the St. Paul’s Schoolroom, Bro. J. Cameron being in the chair. A feature of the evening was the screening of a series of lihns depicting the scenic attractions of both the North and South Islands. These films were secured by Bro. C. W. Sund strum during a motoring tour covering several thousand miles, in the course of which such famous beauty spots as Waikaromoana, the Bay of Islands, and the southern takes were visited. The pictures, most of which wore taken from a moving motor car, included views of some of the finest mountain, lake, river, and soa coast scenery to ho found in New Zealand, and members greatly appreciated the entertainment. An enjoyable programme of musical and elocutionary items was contributed by the following:—Bros. (0. Otrrcy and J. Sligo (songs), .1. Flynn (recitation), J. Stewart (flute solo), and 11. C. Bussell (recitation). The orchestra, under Bro. A. Frost, gave several enjoy able numbers, and by special request it rendered the stirring march which Bro. Frost himself composed and dedicated to the club.
