THE INDIANAPOLIS 500-MILE RECORD BROKEN Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. VANCOUVER, May 30. (Received May 31, at 1.3 p.m.) At Indianapolis, Freddy Frame (Los Angeles) won tbo 500-mile international automobile race to-day, about a minute ahead of Howdy Wilcox (Indianapolis). The time was 4h 48min 3.79 sec—a new record. Frame, who is aged thirty-six, was second last year. Cliff Bergcre (Los Angeles) was third, and Bob Narcy (Anderson. Indiana) was fourth. Frame, wins 20,000 dollars. Thoro were 150,000 spectators. Billy Arnold (Chicago) received a broken collarbone, and his mechanic, Spider Matlock, a broken pelvis bone in a ’smash up when Arnold drove into the retaining wall on the 150th mile.
