‘ KING OF KINGS ’ NOW HAS SOUND The impending release of Cecil 15, 11c Mille’s ‘ The King of Kings ’ will take place at the Octagon Theatre on Friday. To those who saw the original silent version, this picture will conic as a revelation in its new form. Sound, magnificent musical accompaniment, and a thousand and one synchronised effects have been added, and it is said to enhance the beauty of this marvellous production a hundredfold. This wonderful filmisation of the life of Christ enlisted the energies of the De Mille organisation for a year. It included the acting of hundreds of fine players and the construction of tremendous sots of Bible scenes such as has never before been attempted. For the first time a picture has recreated the Temple at Jerusalem, the , Palace of Herod, and many other his- I torical locales of-the Gospel story. As ' an example of the physical elaborateness of the picture, it is worthy of mention that 10,000 objects or properties pertaining to the primitive Christian era were made for and used in the picture. j The tremendous crowd scenes have been handled with consummate care. One scene in particular which will cause a profound impression, is where the Hallelujah chorus is sung by the mass voices.
