MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
—♦- LAST NIGHT'S MATCHES The Drill Hail range was crowded last night with a keen body of rifle shots. The teams' match for rifle eiubs and miniature rifle clubs was keenly contested by eight teams in the A grade and eleven in the B grade. The winners of the A grade proved to be the Kiwi Defence Riilo Club, whose scores were:—Bruce 78, Johnston and Marr 77, Gillick 76, and Judson 75; total, 388. Next in order was Speight's M.R. Club: P. Davis 79, J, Weatherston 77, M. Greenslade 75, H. J. Davis 73, L. Clearwater 72; total, 376. Of the sis other A grade teams, the total scores were: Barnett's No. 1, 371; Dunedin Defence Rifle Club. 365; Dunedin M.R.C., 364; R.S.A. No. 1, 359; R.S.A. 'No. 2. 352; Citizens' M.R.C., 332. The B grade contest was won by the Ladies' National Reserve team, whose scores were:—Miss P. Rowntree 78. Miss R. Robertson 76, Miss E. Melville 75. Miss E. Cameron 71, Mis Pinder 69: total, 369. The second place in this class was taiken by D.S.A. No. 1 team, which scored as follows:—W. Blagdon 76, A. Andrews 75. L. Blagdon 75, M. Wvber 71 F Williams 68; total, 365. 'The scores of the other competing teams were:—R.S.A. No. 1, 361; Railway Ladies' No. 2, 357: Speight's, 357; Railway Ladies' No. 1. 356: R.S.A. No. 2, 354; D.S.A. No.'i 2, 354; Dunedin M.R.C., 352: Barnett's M.R.C.. 351; Ladies' National Reserve No. 2. 345. At the conclusion of the teams match a five-shot rapid lire match was conducted. The conditions being five shots in 45sec. This match was declared a sweepstake, and drew thirtysix entries. The leading scores were: Andrews 47, Holden 47, Perry 47, Bruce 45. L. Blagdon 45, W. Davis 45. B. Davis,4s, and D. Rowntree 45. In the shoot-off for places the following : result was obtained: —Andrews 1. Hol- ; den 2. Perry 3, Bruce 4, L. Blagdon 5. 1 lie fixture for to-morrow night is I an O.M.R.A. match; National Reserve Ladies' v. Speight's M.R.C.. following which will be a ladies' self-handicaps sweep match, also, if time permits, a ■ ten-shot match, five shots from each : shoulder. 1 Arrangements have been made bv the executive of the O.M.R.A. to up'ply a toam to run sweep matches in joniunction with tthe automatic rifle at +he Town Hall amusement park. I his is quite a novelty here, and should command a fair amount of attention. Speight's Club will be in charge of the arrangements at the Drill Hall en Tuesday evening.
