Sir.— I have just seen your article ol the sth inst. on compulsory fruit control. it is very refreshing to see a newspaper telling the truth about the most unfair, unjust, un-British (in all its attributes), and most mischievous Act passed by any Parliament in the British Empire. All w<? hear is very eulogistic references to it by members of Parliament and Control Board officials ; we never get the other side given. P is astonishing that a political party that prides itself on its anti-Connnunis-tic and anti-Socialistic views should ever have put such a Communistic Act on the New Zealand Statutes, and it is milv because it is applied to such a small part of the population that it goes unchallenged. If if were applied generally to nil industry it would not icumin in force for a week. 1 write very feelingly, as I have been a victim of control ever since it. was inaugurated. The first season, through the Control Board not allowing mo to accept a good f.o.b. price offered to me I lost over £SOO. and this has been going on more or less ever since, but as there is no competition in Nelson it is difficult to gauge exactly what I have lost .
