MORE LIGHTING.
•;0 THE EDITOR. Sir.—Now that. the city electrical engineer has discovered a way to ilium.note the City of Dunedin with thousands of coloured lamps, and that all that is nccesary to do this is to turn on a little more water at Waipori (at no extra cost to the public). 1 would like to ask him if ho would kindly turn on a little extra to illuminate the golf links end of Cannington road, Maori Hill, which is in complete darkness these moonless nights, making it dangerous for the residents to find their way about and dodge mud-holes and ditches, etc. I have applied on several occasions for a light to be erected in that locality, but understand that the funds of the Power Board are very low, and the expense of erecting one lamp where it is of some use would be out of the question. At the present time, while there seems to be a surplus of power, lamps, fittings, etc., to decorate tbe city streets, 1 might once again point out to the engineer that a lamp is needed very badly at the above locality, ami while things are booming, why not include Cannington road- I am, etc.. ll ATKi’.W I Ji.
