Looking none the worse for his gruelling bout with Ambrose Palmer, tne New Zealand heavy-weight champion, Alan Campbell, returned to the dominion to-day. In an interview Campbell offered no excuse for his detent except that he did not have sufficient training after arriving in Sydney, do had only seven days’ training before entering the ring. Campbell has a contract with Mr H. D. MTntosh, the Australian promoter, for two more fights in Sydney. A Japanese, named Tony Gora, is mentioned as one ot ms opponents. Ray Nicol, of Invercargill, challenger for the heavy-weight title of New Zealand, may also bo on© ot Campbell’s opponents in the near future.
