FIRST NIGHT SERVICE
WIRE NETTING FOR TRAM WINDOWS SENTENCES HAVE SALUTARY EFFECT [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, April 11. Nothing unusual occurred here over-' night. The trams are all running, and the service will bo continued this evening, the first night service since the strike began. Es tensive measures will bo taken against interference. Tho windows of eight trams to be used have been covered with wire netting, but the heavy sentences imposed upon rioters in the court have had a salutary effect, and the influence of the trouble-makers is waning.
