* GOLD DUST GERTIE ' ARRIVES FRIDAY ‘ Gold Dust Gertie,’ which stars Winnie Lightner and Olsen, and Johnson in support, opens ou Friday at the Octagon. It is ono of the most riotous of comedies, teaming as it does one of the screen’s outstanding comediennes, and tho most famous pair of stage clowns in America. Winnie turns vamp in her own behalf in ‘ Gold Dust Gertie,’ a role in a like her uproarious ono in ‘ Gold Diggers of Broadway.’ The story involves a bathing beauty contest and a hilarious ocean voyage on a private yacht, with three of Winnie’s ex-lnis-bands and a prospective one contributing to the complications. Tho cast includes Claude Gil lingwater, Charles .Judds, Charley Grapewin, Virginia Sale, Dorothy Christy, Vivian Oakland, and Arthur Hoyt. Since Winnie Lightner made ‘ Gold Diggers of Broadway ’ she has been a popular comedienne of the screen, and her many fans will not be disappointed in this latest comedy. With Olsen and Johnson, she provides most of the merriment, but the others help along with very clever characterisations. Beneficiaries of a will are to meet at this house for the delivery of a legacy before midnight of a certain dark and stormy night. Xoc only tho legatees arrive, but a lot of uninvited guests—including a borrowed wife, a disappointed sweetheart, a mad and tough motor cycle inspector, and a grafter. The plot is a merry mix-up with all sorts of things happening to prevent the money being delivered to the right party—-and to prevent the hero from getting married .to the right girl —and to prevent tho jealous " cop .finding that his girl is mixed up in the affair as a borrowed wife. Those arc the amusing situations of ‘ Borrowed Partners,’ which will also he shown.
