Forecast. The Dominion Meteorologist (Dr E. Kidson), supplied the following at noon to-day:—The indications are for variable and moderate _ breezes, southerly prevailing; there is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, with _ isolated showers, mainly coastal; the night will probably be very cold, with frosts inland; barometer unsteady, with a rising tendency; sea and titles moderate. SAILED.—May 2. Holmdale, s.s. (11.5_p.m.), 681 tons, Copland, for Wanganui via ports. Holmglen, rn.s. (6.40 p.m.), 430 tons, Mead, for Port Waikato via ports. Owing to the heavy gale blowing at Wellington, the Gale was unable to leave last night. She is now expected here on Thursday to load for Timaru, ijyttclton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Holmdale sailed last night for Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton to complete loading for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The motor vessel Holmglen, which arrived early yesterday morning from Wellington, sailed last evening for Timaru. Lyttelton, and Wellington to complete loading for New Plymouth and Port Waikato. The Opihi was timed to leave Now Plymouth at 3 p.m. to-day for Dunedin via Wellington. She is due here on Thursday. An arrival at Auckland early ibis morning was the Kairanga, winch is timed to sail again at 5 p.m. on Thursday for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Kini has been fixed to load at Westport to-morrow for Bluff and Dunedin. The Kaponga was expected to leave Wellington to-day for Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. She loads out on <v for Westport direct. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Rangatira, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.45 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with tho express. ' RANGITATA FOR ENGLAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that tho motor liner Rangitata is now timed to leave Wellington at daybreak on Friday, May 13, for London via Panama. CARGO FROM LONDON. Tho C. and D. Line steamer Port Hunter is to sail from London on May ••’5 for Suva, Dunedin, Lyttelton, Bluff, and Timaru. She is due at Dunedin about July 3. PORT HUON TO-MORROW. Messrs J. W, Swift and Co. advise that tho Port Huon was timed to leave Timaru at 4 p.m. to-day. She is due at Port Chalmers early in the morning to complete discharge and commence Homeward loading, which comprises frozen meat, cheese, apples, wool, and other general cargo. She leaves Port at the end of the week for further loading at Bluff. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL. Sailed: Rangatira (6.50 p.m.), for Lyttelton. TTELTON, May 2.—Sailed: Maori (8 p.m.), for Wellington. TIMARU, May 3. —Arrived: Holmglen (8.30 a.m.), from Dunedin.
