The fortnightly meeting of Court Excelsior, No. 6,128, A.0.1 1 '., was held in St.-. Mary’s Hall, Durham street, Moruington, on April 26. The court was opened in mourning by the C.R., Bro. J. C. S. M'Miiin, all the officers being present except the 5.8., Bro. R. M‘Fadyen, and the 1.P.C.R., Bro. J. W. Leitch. The C.R. reported the death of B.C.R. Bro. A. J. Morrison and the loss the court had sustained, also that the secretary, Bro. E. J. Patton, and himself had attended the funeral. The members stood in silence. A letter was received from the family of the late Bro. Morrison thanking the court for its letter of sympathy. Letters of condolence were received from Court King Edward’s Pride and Court Little John. Correspondence was received from Court Southern, of Invercargill, inviting the court to send two representatives to the twenty-first anniversary on Thursday, May 19; from Court Pride of the Leith re invitation to a social on April 27; from Court St. Andrews inviting six old members to a presentation to be made to P.C.R. Bro. 11. Jefferson on Monday, May 9, as he was retiring from the secretaryship of their court; from the D.E., stating that it had been decided to hold the combined dance on June 3, and requesting a committee of seven be sent to the Pride of the Leith Foresters’ Hall on Wednesday, May 4, to make arrangements; from the D.U.F.S. Dispensary stating the attendance of the delegates at the two ordinary meetings hold; from Bro. J. W. Leitch requesting leave of absence as I.P.C.R. for an indefinite period owing to illness; also the result of the recent ritual competition. An official visit was paid the court bv D.C.R. Bro. Williamson, I.P.D.C.R. Bro. Reynolds, D.T. Bro. Hope, D.S. Bro. M'Fic, and D.W. Bro. Thomson, of the D.E.; also by Bro. Dr A. A. Reid. The following six members wore elected to attend officially at Court St. Andrews on May 9:— P.D.C.R. Bro. Walrnslcy, P.C.R. Bro. Blaokie, P.C.R. Bro. Reay, Treas. Bro. Anderson, Bro. Thomas, and Bro. Bamber. The invitation from Court Southern was hold over until the ensuing meeting, and it was resolved that the court attend Court Pride of the Leith on April 27 officially. I.P.C.R. Bro. J. W. Leitch was granted leave of absence. The following members were appointed to attend the D.E. meeting on May 4 re combined dance:—C.R. Bro. M‘Minn, S.W. Bro. Wood, P.C.R. Bro. Wilson, Bros. Smith, Napier, and Davidson. The three retiring delegates to the Dispensary Board were re-elected —-viz., P.C.R.s Bros. Mearns, Stanley, and Blackic. The C.R. toasted the D.E. and Bro. Dr A. A. Reid, which was replied to by the D.C.R. and the D.W. on behalf of the D.E., and by Bro. Dr A. A. Reid. The D.C.R., Bro. Williamson, presented P.D.C.R. Bro. Walrnslcy with his P.D.C.R. diploma and a case of cutlery from the D.E., and in doing so spoke of his good work and excellent service. I.P.D.C.R. Bro. Reynolds, D.F. Bro. Hope, and D.S. Bro. M‘Fie also spoke of the proficiency with which he had carried out his duties. In replying, Bro. Walrnslcy thanked the D.E. for the presentation and for the assistance rendered him while ho was in office. An official visit was paid by P.C.R. Bro. Himmel, of Court Enterprise, who was welcomed by the C.R., Bro. Himmel suitably replying. It was resolved that the presentation of the A)‘Fie Memorial Scholarship, won by Master Reay, take place next meeting, and that the head master of the Mornington School be invited. One new member was initiated. At the close of the meeting Bro. Dr A. A. Reid gave a very interesting lecture on ‘ Cancer.’
