Portman was the victim of an astounding car raid.’While travelling on a busy road in Hertfordshire a high-powered car drew alongside and signalled to her to stop, indicating that something was wrong. A man approached, smiling, and while the chauffeur was investigating at the roar of tho car the man grabbed a case containing jewellery valued at £B,OOO. The bandit jumped into his own car and rapidly disappeared. The police subsequently arrested a Londoner named Isaac Bear,
