POPPY DAY
£1,548 IN HAND Additional returns received by the secretary (Mr 0. L. Ferens) of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association bring the total Poppy Day receipts to date to £1,548 4s Bd. Returns have yet to be received from a number of country districts, and it is anticipated that these will make the total in excess of the £1,650 collected from Dunedin and the Otago district last year. The following additional returns are reported :—Hawea Flat (per Mr C. F. Watkins), £lO 3s 6d; Alexandra district (per R.S.A., etc.), £29 2s; Mrs Chapman, 3s; Greenfield (per Mrs .Cauldwell), £1 7s 3d.
