PIPE WEEK CELEBRATED THIS WEEK.
Tho humblo briar will be well in the limelight throughout the dominion all this week. Tobacconists are making special efforts in the way of attractive displays, and pipe smokers will have an enjoyable time inspecting the latest products of the leading overseas makers. Of late there has been a definite increase in the sale of pipes, no doubt partly because of the greater economy of the pipe. The project to popularise the smoking of a pipe originated in England, and lias since been successfully copied both in Australia and New Zealand.
