ALLEGATION AGAINST HOSPITAL AUTHORITIES. The allegation that the Dunedin Hospital had not advised him of the operation being conducted until after the death of his wife was made by the husband of Clara L. Fletcher, of Palmerston, who died in the operating theatre on April-27, at the inquest this afternoon. The coroner formally adjourney the inquest till Friday to allow the medical superintendent an opportunity to reply to the allegations. He said it was distressing that the husband was informed the previous nigbt that an operation might not be carried out immediately, and that be was at the hospital when the operation was actually being carried out. The husband staled that ho had left two telephone numbers at the hospital, but the only communication to reach Palmerston was advice of his Avife’s death.
