The fortnightly meeting of Court Prido of the Leith was hold on Wednesday last, when there was a largo attendance of members under the charge of the C.R., Bro. A. F. Grant. Official visits were received from the city and suburban courts. An invitation was accepted from Court Saint Andrews, to attend its next meeting, and P.D.C.R.’s Bros. C. C. Robertson, R. S. Vercoe, T. F. M'Natty, P.C.R.’s Bros. John Abbott and A. E. Brown, and P.D.C.R. Ilro W. B. Anderson were appointed to represent the court. The secretary was directed to arrange for two representatives from the court to attend the twenty-first anniversary celebrations of Court Southern, at Invercargill. The now charge for now members as submitted by the secretary was left over for discussion at next meeting. The toast of “ The Visitors ” was responded to by C.R. Bro. W. Curry (Court King Edward’s Pride), C.R. Bro. M‘Minn (Court Excelsior), C.R. Sister Borland (Court Saint Andrews), S.B. Bro. D. L. M'Phail (Courts Pride and Queen of Green Island), P.D.C.R. Bro. J. H. Reynolds (Court Little John), C.R. Sister Alcorn (Court AVoodland’s Prido), C.S. Bro. L. J. Neilson (Court Robin Hood); and P.C.R, Bro. W. Himmel (Court Enterprise). Arrangements were completed to suitably entertain the older members at next meeting. One nomination was accepted and the meeting closed. A dance was held in the lower hall to a late hour. The meeting of Court Bruce was hold in the Masonic Hall, Milton, when the C.R., Bro. W. Kennedy presided over a good attendance of members. Resolutions of sympathy were passed with Sister C. Shale and Bros. A. J. Currie and A. F. Paskell in their recent bereavements, A welcome was extended to Bro. R. E. M‘Fad-yen, of Court Excelsior, Dunedin. Two nominations for admission, to the order were accepted. At the close of the meeting a very enjoyable dance was held, to music supplied by Mr W. Taylor, with extras by Bro. MTadyen. Bro. F. Read officiated as M.C.

The ordinary meeting of Court Roxburgh was held at Roxburgh on the 19th when O.R. Bro. L. Taylor presided over a good attendance. It was resolved to forward letters of sympathy to the family of the late Mrs Coop, whose late husband was one of the pioneer members of the court, and was also secretary for many years. Also to the family of the late Mr R. A. Parker, whose son had been a member of fl>e local juvenile branch. P.C.R. Bro. J. Smith gave an interesting report on the proceedings at the last annual district meeting at Oamaru, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The report on the work of the Juvenile Council was also well received, and members were urged to take a more active interest in their juvenile branch, as it was a good asset to the adult court. The social committee was instructed to draw up a syllabus for the winter months and submit it to next meeting.

Court Little John’s last meeting was well attended, and was presided over by C.R. Bro. Helm. The invitation from Court Pride of the Leith was accepted. P.D.C.R. Bro. J. H. Reynolds and P.C.R. Bro. J. Herbert were reelected delegates to the Dispensary Committee. The Secretary, Bro. R. C. Wilson, made feeling reference to the death of Bro. A. J. Morrison, who had been an active member of Court Excelsior for many years, and it was resolved to forward a letter of sympathy to Court Excelsior and to the family of the late member. P.D.C.R, Bro. R, C. Wilson, P.C.R.s Bros. A. Gibson and H. L. Thomson and L. M‘Kenzie reported on the business of the District Meeting, and spoke highly of the hospitality shown the visitors by the members of the courts in Oamaru, and complimented the D.C.R. Bro. Reynolds on the capable way in which lie had conducted the business. The following members were appointed a committee to assist the combined ball in June:— Bros. Gibson, Wardrop, Helm, Goodlet, Sisters M'Morran, Adcock, Wardrop, Drea.ver, Madge and May Sinclair. A debate on ‘ Is Marriage Worth While?’ caused considerable amusement. Sister May Sinclair acted as judge, and decided that the debate was a tie. Two new members were admitted. Satisfaction was expressed at ,the marked improvement in the attendances, and at the interest shown by members in the working of the court.

Court King Edward’s Pride held its fortnightly meeting on Thursday last, when C.R. Bro. W. Curry presided over a large attendance of members. A transfer of a member from Gore was accepted. The judges reported on the last general efficiency competition. Seven members were elected as a committee to assist in the arrangements for the combined ball in June. P.C.R.s Bros. Dyke, Curry, Scott, Holdaway, Turnbull, and Ross were elected to represent the court at the meeting of Court St. Andrews to farewell P.C.R. Bro. R. Jefferson. One now member was admitted, and the nominations of nine candidates were accepted. After the close of the meeting the married members entertained the single members. Sisters Cameron and Dougall wore the winners of the Monte Carlo waltz.
