WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
The writer was asked the other day what was the difference between direct current and alternating current. Direct current flows always in the same direction, just like water from a tap, but alternating current is continually changing its direction. Retteries and certain kinds of generators supply direct current, while other types of generators provide alternating current. Alternating current changes its direction from 25 to 100 times a second, according to the type of generator in use. The frequency is the number of changes made in a second.
