During the course of the _ Fortcscuo trial, Lieutenant Massio admitted holding a gun when Kahahawai was killed, but he did not remember what happened. , . Mr Darrow, who is appearing for the defence, informed the court that his intention was to show that Massio was temporarily insane at the time, when he was attempting to extort a confession by threats.
