WORKERS’ REST ROOM.
TO THE EDITOR. sir, —We desire to ask the courtesy of your columns to make an appeal on behalf of the rest room which has been carried on by the Moray Place Congregational Church. in making this appeal to the public for financial assistance we appreciate that many demands are being made on behalf of various efforts to relievo present need. The value of this room, however, encourages us to ask for help with confidence, it provides facilities designed to assist men to fight mental depression and to keep in a happy state of mind. We deem it important to keep unemployed men from becoming disgruntled with life by filling .their time with interests. Every day a large number of men use the room, and the lectures we are arranging have a very definite value to them as citizens.
it is impossible for our church to continue bearing the major share of the expense involved in carrying on the room, and we therefore make this appeal in order to keep the room open, with its comforts and conveniences, during the coming winter. If your readers can send monetary gifts they will be received gratefully and will be of great assistance. The room is well known, and appreciative references have often been made, so we appeal in confidence. —Wo are, etc.
