The following have been awarded senior university scholarships in the subjects specified (1931 examinations) : English.—Winifred A. M'Naughton (Otago) and J. A. W. Bennett (Auckland). Latin.—A. J. Birtles (Auckland). Greek.—L. W. A. Crawley (Auckland). * French. —J. M. Bertram (Auckland). History.—H. D. Brass (Canterbury). Education.—J. C. Hall (Auckland). Pure Mathematics.--T. E. Easterfield (Canterbury). Applied Mathematics.—W. A. C. Smith (Otago). _ T. E. Easterfield qualified, but Smith receives the scholarship. Physics.—L. G. Wilson (Auckland). Chemistry.—T. E. Easterfield (Canterbury) and W. S. llapson (Auckland) equal. The scholarship has been awarded to W. S. Rapson. J. H. Goodey (Otago) receives an additional scholarship. Botany. Greta B. Stevenson (Otago). Geology.—E. J. Soarle (Auckland). Roman Law.—H. W. Youren (Auckland).,
