FORBURY PARK CLUB A meeting of the executive of the Forbury Park Trotting Club was held last night, and was attended by Messrs B. S. Irwin (president, in the chair), James Mitchell, G. J. Barton, H. Arehbold, W. J. L. Coughlan, A., Clark, John Mitchell, James Black. Mr I. Halliday was appointed to represent the club on the 11 Back to Dunedin Week ” Committee. „ A lengthy letter was received from tlie Dominion Sportsmen’s Association requesting the committee *o suport the legalisation of the bookmaker in New Zealand.—After a brief discussion, in .which the consensus of opinion was that racing clubs would not benefit by the introduction of the bookmaker, the letter was received. —One member went so far as to say that the legalisation of the bookmaker would settle racing altogether. It was decided to recommend the New Zealand Trotting Association to grant a license to train and drive to Ernest Edward Jury. The Chairman said that the handicaps for the Winter Meeting of the club were to have been published on April 25. That day was, however, Anzac Day, and no papers were to be issued.—lt was decided to publish the handicap;, on Saturday,- April 23. It was decided to engage the Waverley Orphanage Boys’ Band for the May Meeting. Accounts amounting to : £57 5s lid were passed for payment.
