Williams, from Bluff. Canadian Cruiser, s.s. (8.30 a.m.), 7,178 tons, Sears, from Halifax via north New Zealand ports. SAILED.—ApriI 14. Kini, s.s. (3.20 p.m.), 1,388 tons, Hoddinot, for Miramar. Waipiata, s.s. (C.lO p.m.), 2,82 G tons, Elders, for Bluff. The Opihi, which arrived last night from Wellington, was loading at the Birch street wharf to-day, ready to sail this afternoon for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. Tho John arrived this morning from Wellington to load cargo for Timaru, Now Plymouth, and Waikato. Tho Waipiata left last night for Bluff, and is expected backe here in time to load on Monday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Kini left yesterday-afternoon for Miramar to put out coal from West-port. Tho Melanesian Mission steamer Southern Cross sailed from Auckland on Monday for the mission stations in the South-west Pacific. When she returns in Juno she will be withdrawn and laid up. A smaller vessel will replace her, and this steamer will stay at tho Islands. The C. and D. liner Port Adelaide, from Newcastle, is due at Nelson on Sunday to commence her Homeward loading. She will later complete at Wanganui and Wellington, and is scheduled to clear 'Wellington finally on May 1 for London via Capo Horn and Montevideo.

Tho Kairanga, which left Auckland last night, is to leave Portland to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin.

THE FERRY SERVICE. Tho Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.45 this morning, and passengers and mails connected with tho south express. CANADIAN CRUISER HERE. The Canadian National Line steamer Canadian Cruiser came to Dunedin this morning from Timaru. She tied up at the Victoria wharf to discharge general cargo from Halifax and to load cargo for the return trip. On the voyage out the Canadian Cruiser experienced generally fair weather. She is to sail tomorrow for Melbourne and other Australian ports, thence Now York, Boston, and Halifax. KIA ORA LOADING. Tho S.S. and A. steamer Kia Ora arrived at Port Chalmers this morning from Bluff to load wool, meat, and other produce. On Monday or Tuesday she will leave for northern ports to fill up. WAIKOUAITI’S ARRIVAL. The Union Company advises that the Waikouaiti, from Sydney and Hobart, is due at Bluff to-morrow and at Dunedin on Monday morning. She is to sail from here on Monday for Lyttelton and Timaru. ORARI DUE SUNDAY. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor ship Orari, from Liverpool via northern ports, is due at Port Chalmers on Sunday to unload part cargo. WIRRAL FROM NEW YORK. Chartered by tho A. and A. Line, tho steamer Wirral reached Dunedin yesterday afternoon from Lyttelton and berthed at the Victoria wharf to put out general cargo from America. She left this morning for Ravensbourne to discharge sulphur, and is to sail from there at noon on Monday for Geelong, Rockhampton, Townsville, Cairns, Noumea, and Rabanl. The vessel loaded sulphur at Galveston, Port Ncchcs, and Port Arthur, Texas, and then proceeded to New York to load general cargo and to Norfolk, Virginia, to load tobacco. She sailed .from New York on February 28 and Norfolk on February 29. Colon was reached on March 8 and Balboa was cleared the same day. Exceptionally fine weather prevailed on tho voyage. Captain W. H. Jones is in command, and the following are the officers:— Chief, Mr T. B. Rees; second, Mr D. J, Cook; third, Mr P*. Burger; chief engineer, Mr C. E. The Port Hunter, en route from Wellington to Halifax and London, sailed from Panama on Sunday. THE HORORATA. Tho Hororata, from Antwerp and Falmouth via the Cape of Good Hope and Sydney, was expected to arrive at Auck 1 ancl ycs terday. THE MATSON SERVICE. The Matson Company’s new liner Monterey will leave New York for Auckland and Sydney via San Francisco, Los zfngeles, and Island ports on May 12 with cargo as well as passengers. She is due at Auckland on June 20. THE NAVAL COMMAND. Commodore F, Burgess-AVatson will arrive at Wellington on Saturday by the liner Rangitata. At sunset on Sunday the llag of Rear-Admiral Geoffrey Blake on H.M.S. Diomede will he struck, and at 8 a.m. on Monday the broad pennant of Commodore F. Bur-gess-Watson will bo hoisted. H.M.S. Veronica will fire a salute of eleven guns, and H.M.S. Diomede will return tho salute with seven guns. iMARAMA’S PASSENGERS.
