SOCCER
SEASON OPENS TO-MORROW The Soccer football season will open to-morrow afternoon, when the first round of the Fletcher Cup competition will Ife played. The majority of the clubs are quite up to last year’s standard, and in view of big events ahead the teams have put in solid practice, so that the public can be assured of some keen games. The old opponents Northern and Mornington will meet on the latter’s ground, when the result should be keenly contested. The other town game, between Technical and Maori Hill, at Prospect Park, will no doubt prove an attraction to many followers of tho code. The remaining matches, Port v. Seacliff, at Seacliff, and High School Old Boys v. Mosgiel, at Mosgiel, should provide keen games for local supporters of the code in the two districts.
