TOMAHAWK COAL AND BLANKET FUND.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Mr Hoyne says that “every man must have a fire in his home through the winter months.” How hard do you think 1 took it to see some of my neighbours around me receive their three bags each of coal while I stood back with an empty bin? Are the public going to contribute to help keep a selected few in warmth and comfort for the winter while their less fortunate neighbours (some with large families) freeze? Seeing Mr Pereira has done such a lot for life saving in Tomahawk, could not he organise something to assist some of the women and children for the winter?—l am, etc., Mother or Five. April 14.
