AFFILIATION WITH RUGBY COMMISSION NOT. FAVOURED BY N.Z. UNION. [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, April 14. Acceptance of affiliation with the Rugby Commission was not favoured by delegates to the Rugby Union’s annual meeting. While reaffirming the willingness of the union to conform to the rules of the game as laid down by the International Board, it was decided that, until such time as overseas dominions are given a seat on the supreme controlling body, the union should continue its affiliation with the Rugby Football Union. It was decided that steps should bo taken with a view to the New Zealand Union being consulted before alterations in tho laws of the game are put into force. OMITTED FROM HANDICAPS. Elude (7.6) was omitted from the handicaps for the Smithfield Handicap at the South Canterbury Club’s Meeting. Timaru Press Association.
