ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
SMALL SOY'S DEATH, William George Wilden, the small boy who was knocked down by a bicycle on Wednesday evening and was admitted to the Hospital, suffering fr.bm injuries to the head, died there at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon. The inquest was opened at the Hospital this morning, Air H. W. Bundle* S.M., sitting as coroner. Sergeant M'Carthy represented the police; Evidence of-identification was given; by William Arthur Wilden, .father of the deceased, and Dr Anderson, house surgeon at the Dunedin Hospital, gave, evidence that lie had examined the deceased soon after his admission to thej Hospital. He was then He had a cut on his forehead and upper! lip, and was bleeding profusely from! the ears. Death, in witness’s opinion* was due to infection of the brain* caused by an extensive fracture in the base of the skull. Tlie inquest was adjourned until Monday morning at 8.45 at the courthouse-
