Club hours are at the Municipal Baths from 8.45 till 9.45 p.m. KIAVf NOTES. Two further rounds of the club championships were decided on Thursday and Tuesday nights respectively. The 220yds freestyle men’s championship event went to Reg. Geddes, with P. Alatlrieson and A. Thomas lying second and third in that order. Geddes established a load over the first lap, and went on to win by 10yds. The ladies’ 75yds freestyle resulted in another win for the lady champion, Aliss J. Taylor, Aliss Al. Boulton taking second place. 1). Tnekwell carried off the 75yds boys’ freestyle, with Roy Geddes second and AV. AUCusker third.

This makes Tnekwell the junior boys’ club champion and entitles him to hold the Fogg Cup for the ensuing year.

The ladies’ 100yds breaststroke was won by Aliss M. Boulton, Aliss Tuckwell being second and Aliss Alackay third, Alisses Tnekwell and Alackay are two new members who have never before competed, and they are to be congratulated on finishing in what was for beginners a strenuous race. The 100yds men’s backstroke event saw victory going to P. Alatlrieson, with A. Thomas second, and Reg. Geddes third. Alatlrieson swam a great race, and his time, 67 2-ssec, was very good indeed. He has shown great improvement during the last month in this stylo of swimming. A junior 33 l-3yds was put on during the chib hour on Tuesday night, open to new members only. First place went to J. Gardner, an improving lad, with Aliss White second.

Miss J. Taylor has had a very strenuous season, but seems to be going as strongly as ever. Miss At. Boulton is in her first year of competition, and is developing a very good style. Considering that she had never competed oyer a longer distance than 50ycls previously, it is to her credit that she finished so well on Thursday night. Undoubtedly, with coaching Aliss Boulton will have to be reckoned with in the ladies’ division next season. Tnekwell has a future abend of him if ho is put into good hands. He lias the right idea of the crawl, but requires polishing up to get the most out of Iris stroke. The Alisses Eckhoff are coining on nicely with their diving, : and in fact, it would not be surprising if they enter competition in this branch of the sport next season. The dub diving championship will be held on Alarch 22, and the writer thinks competition will he keener this year than for many years. There will be competing Airs E. C. Isaacs. P. Alatlrieson, and Reg. Geddes, all of whom are getting in all the practice they can. The chib has more diving talent in its ranks at the present time i than has been the case for years, for, with the above three, there must be j included Aliss N. Olds, the ' Alisses | Eckhoff, J. Gardiner, and D. Tnekwell all of whom have a strong bent for diving.

D. Holland started in the 220yds freestyle last Thursday, but, owing' to lade of training, was obliged to retire. Holland will be a good man for tho relay_ team next season if lie trains conscientiously under a good coach. With H. D. Gillies and W. A. Buckland out of the running through incapacity. Kiwi has been weak in seniors this season: however, there is material coming on, which will make a strong challenge for the six-a-sicle and four-a-sidc championships in the near future. SPLASHES. The writer received a letter recently from Mr E. 0. Isaacs (who is in Invercargih at present), in which lie saVs the Oreti Club is holding a carnival at Easter, and would be pleased to receive a visit on that occasion from any Otago swimmers who are able to make the trip. It would bo very factory to see a team from this province pay a visit to our sister centre, as there is no better way of fostering tho sport than interprovincial competition.

A fast game of polo between Kiwi A and St Clair B during the St. Clair Club hour on Monday night resulted m Kiwi winning by 8 goals to 0. Kiwi displayed better Combination than has been the case in some of their matches, and although playing one man short, by employing aggressive tactics, kept the play in St. Clair territory for the greater part of the game. St. Clair B lias fielded a hotter side previously this year, but tho game on Monday night was, although a little one sided, dean and fought out to a finish in a very good spirit. The scorers for Kiwi were: A. Thomas 3, P. Mathieson 3, U. Goddes 2. St. Clair A meets Dunedin A on Monday night, when a very hard game should ho the result.
