The new picture is a panorama or the entire sport of racing, Mowing the fortunes of a racehorse from birth to Derby Day. But racing, though it is used to thrill, is not the mam feature of the storv. The human characters who affect the fate of the horse are always the central theme. A gambler s "irl and a “ commission ” dealer battle their way back to honesty in an engrossing plot. A notable cast includes Clark 'Sable, recent sensation in * A Free Soul ’ and ‘ The Secret Six ; Ernest Torrence as the old horse trainer: Madge Evans, who scored m ‘ Son of India ’ and ‘ Guilty Hands ’; Lew Cody, Marie Prevent, Many Ho - man, Hallam Cooley, and J. Jarrell M'Donald. Intimate glimpses of operations on actual horse farms, in training stables, the thrills of the Derby, and dramatic episodes in gambling halls are among the features in the now picture. Actual racehorses, including some verv famous American ones, and noted jockeys appear in the racing sequences, and “ a shot ” in which camera and microphones follow the race in “ close-np ” is one of the outstanding sights in the production. Special supports will be included with 1 Sporting Blood.’ These will be headed by the first of the 1932 series of Laurel and Hardy comedies, entitled ‘ One Good Turn,’ in which the screen’s most popular comedians are at their best.
