(Received March 10, at 10 a.m.) Glass, china, wood, coconut shells, nails, nitric acid, and a snake's head were swallowed by L. A. Ran, a Hindu ascetic, in a demonstration of his powers before Lord Lothian and members of the Indian Franchise Committee, and prominent British Indian citizens at Bombay, The members of the audience stood beside Rao during tho performance. They put the nails into his mouth, ami inspected the snake’s fangs before he hit its head off. The hand of one of tho guests was burned with strong nitric acid while handling the bottle, tho contents of winch Rao drank.
