PORT CHALMERS REGATTA
All arrangements have been completed for the Otago Association’s Regatta to be held at Port Chalmers tomorrow afternoon, and all that is required to make the day a success is fine weather. Outside entries include crews from Oamaru and the Invercargill Railway Club. The former will contest the Youths’ Fours, Youths’ Pairs, Maiden Pairs, and Junior Pairs, whilst Railway will compete in all events with the exception of three senior races. In the Youtht’ Double Sculls, Youths’ Pairs, Maidm Pairs, Junior Pairs, they will be represented by two crews in each. Other entries are Port Chalmers 16 crows, Queen’s Drive 14, Otago 19, North End 9, Macandrew Bay 3.
In order to raise the necessary finance to meet the expenses of the regatta and also of the representative eight-oar crew for the championship eight-oar race to be held at licton on March 26, programmes and badges will be on sale, the latter admitting to the George street Pier, alongside Much the races will finish. The Port Chalmers Rand will be in attendance, and will be stationed on the George street Pier. On Monday evening at Dunedin the eight-car trial race will be nwed between crews picked from the Tort and Queen’s Drive Clubs and tht Otago and North End. After this race the selectors will pick the eight to represent Otago.;
