HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS
ANNUAL MEETING OF SOCIETY Tho annual meeting of the Otago High School Qld Boys’ Society was held yesterday afternoon, Mr J. M. Fraser presiding over a good attendance of members. .... , In moving the adoption of tho annual report and balance-sheet, Mr Fraser stated that the society seemed to be flourishing. 'He congratulated the officials who had looked after the financial affairs of the society since its inception, and briefly reviewed the activities of the year. it was decided to donate tho sum of £5 5s to the coach fund of the Otago Cricket Association as an'appreciation of tho services rendered to the school. Mr Webster suggested that Messrs Moloney and Dickinson should be congratulated upon their performances in the recent Plunket Shield game, and this was warmly approved. Mr Campbell brought up the question of the treatment the cricket area on Littlebourno Park was receiving. Several members spoke strongly on this matter, pointing out that games were being played there on Sundays, and that tho wicket, which was carefully prepared and looked after, was being carelessly treated.—lt was decided that a deputation, consisting of the president, Messrs Fraser, AY. R. Brugh, and Campbell, should wait on the Reserves Committee of the City Council to ask that some action be taken.
The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing 3’ear : —Patron, Sir Francis Bell; vice-patrons—Sir Charles Statham, Sir Thomas Sidey, tho Hon. W. Downie Stewart, Messrs E, Webster and W. J. Morrell; president, Mr J. J. Mallard; vice-presidents, Mr W. R. Brugh and Colonel E. J. Smith; treasurer, Mr J. L. Caldcr; committee —Drs Fulton and Begg, Messrs L. A. Rhodes, L. M. Satterthwaite, F. H. Campbell, R. W. S. Botting. A. J. Gilman, W. M. Hopkins, E. S. Rivers, and J. D. Fletcher; auditors—Messrs Barr, Burgess, and Stewart.
