SIK MALCOLM CAMPBELL. NEW YOLK, February 25 A message from Daytona Beach states that Sir Malcolm Campbell to-day postponed his record attempt io Friday, owing to rain, POLICE COURT. After further evidence for the defence had been heard in the case in which John Cliarlcs Duke M'Ara was charged with threatening behaviour in view of a public place, the Magistrate entered a conviction and imposed a fine of 20s and costs. A protest against the proposal to close the Dunedin Training College was made to Messrs Stewart ‘ and Masters this afternoon by a deputation of legislators and representatives of the Dunedin educational and commercial interests. Sir Thomas Sidey said there should be teachers training in each of the : four centres. The Government’s proposal would mean an increase in travelling and living expenses. There would be a loss in revenue to Otago University of £17,000 a year.
