KING’S INVESTITURE

The King held the first investiture of the year at Buckingham Palace to-day, and among those decorated was Chief Petty Officer Willis, who received the Albert Medal for great heroism ( displayed in the Poseidon submarine disaster. After the ceremony Willis had a private audience with the King, vho talked with him for several minutes. Large crowds cheered Willis as he left .the palace. The official description of his deed retails how he ordered the men to put on the escape apparatus, kept up their spirits, and by confidence, ability, _ and power of command in a desperate situation saved many lives.
