DUNEDIN FLOWER SHOW

UNCOMMONLY ATTRACTIVE WIDE VARIETY AND HIGH QUALITY First impressions about tho Dunedin Horticultural Society’s show that was opened in tho Early Settlers’ Building yesterday warranted the statement that it is the biggest of all the ordinary autumn.shows in this city and gave rise to tho opinion that it was also the best. Detailed examination later on justified that opinion. And tho flowerloving public soon discovered the fact that it is an outstanding show, for the attendance during the afternoon and in the evening was larger than usual, though not equal to the merits of the display. The chambers ought to be crowded to-night, the last opportunity of seeing this fine gathering from tho choicest growths of Otago and Canterbury gardens. The management was likewise satisfactory in all respects save one, the exemption being that under the new system of recording the results of tho judging the winning exhibits’ tickets were not all affixed until after 4 o’clock. That is tho reason why the full prize list was not available in time for publication in last night’s issue. The balance is here presented:— POT PLANTS. Judge: Mr J. Roy. OPEN CLASSES.
