ST. CLAIR BEACH.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—-In reference to an article in the ‘ Evening Star ’ on the sands shifting at St. Clair, I think if the young surf bathers would put their heads together for a concert or dance once or twice a week so as to gather funds to try and make a breakwater at the other side of the baths near the point, similar to that of Timaru—say run it about five to six hundred fathoms out—it would stop the heavy sea and draw-back, and so make swimming safe and the beach as good as Timaru’s. —I am, etc., , Lover of Sport.
