FAMOUS FARRIER DEAD

Mr Bob Wood, the farricv who shod hundreds of famous racehorses, died at his liomo in Bolton, Lancashire, a few weeks ago. ■ Mr Wood invented and patented a light racing plate, ( which he supplied to stables all over\the world. These plates are still used wherever there is racing and are manufactured by Mr Wood’s four sons In his apron, Mr Wood was a wellknown figure on all racecourses, and was very popular _ with owners and trainers. Tne King and the Prince of Wales have chatted with him. At Mr Wood’s home arc hundreds of gold anil silvei cups and other trophies—mementoes from owners of winning horses shod by him.
