TO-MORROW NIGHT'S BROADSIDING

With the Speedway Royle track improving every week, some /exceptionally fast times may be anticipated at to-morrow night’s broadsiding meeting at which the most comprehensive and varied programme of the season is to be presented. The management is put to provide patrons with the best racing that it can offer, and in view of the big improvement shown by some of the local men, two special challenge match races are being provided for them tomorrow night. Jim Nesbit, probably the most experienced of the Dunedin broadsiders, will have no easy task if be wishes to head Lionel Homer, who is a strong and dashing rider. Nesbit showed remarkably fine form in the teams’ event against the Australians last Saturday ■ night, but Homer gave a taste of his quality a little earlier in tlie season, and can invariably be depended on to put up a good exhibition. The other match will bp contested by Peter Lyders and Allan Crighton, who appear to be a very well-matched pair. The four Australians will be seen in a Flying Four Match Race, and the brilliance and dash of Tommy Tompkins. the intrepid little Queenslander, has been such of late that he will take a lot of heading. Laurie Packer has also registered fast times, and Bysouth and Elms have only to reproduce their best form to make this a most exciting and thrilling race. The Short Limit Handicap will see the pick of the local riders in action against the Australian stars, and an added attraction will be an attempt on the mile record (local riders) by Jim Nesbit. Other riders will, makd the attempt later in the season.
