ORDER OF RECHABITES

The opening meeting for the year of the Hope of Dunedin Tent was held in Marshall’s Chambers, Moray place, on Monday, when Sister E. K. Gain (Chief Ruler) presided over a good attendance of members and visitors. Before proceeding with the business a motion of sympathy was passed to the late Bro. A. H. Nelson, all present standing in silence. The reports showed that several brothers and sisters were laid aside through illness and, accidentsi A cordial welcome was accorded Bro Jackson, P.C.R. (Phillipson Tent, Christchurch), who, in reply, expressed pleasure at being able to visit another tent during his stay in Dunedin. He extended to- membets visiting Christchurch an invitation to attend the Phillipson Tent, where they would be assured of a warm welcome. The fraternal greetings of his tent and those of Bro. and Sister Martin were tendered and heartily reciprocated. Arrangements for a euchre tournament are well in hand, and a good evening can be looked forward to, judging by the appreciation of those held in the past. After the usual business had been dispensed a happy circle of members related their holiday experiences, when interesting and humorous incidents on sea and land were listened to. A hearty vote of thanks was expressed by those who listened in to those, who were fortunate to have had holidays. The annual guides were available for distribution, and, judging by the items on the syllabus, some really good programmes can be looked forward to.
