PHAR LAP. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORE, January 21. (Received January 22, at 1 p.m.) An Agua Caliente message states it is understood that Phar Lap’s owners have tentatively agreed on a test match, and the race is awaiting only the final sanction of the owners of Doctor Freeland, Plucky Play, and Marine, which are now considered the horses most likely to meet Phar Lap. The date of the race is given as February 21. The assistant manager of the Gorman Jockey Club said the proposed match'would'be for a 10,000dol purse, and would have no effect on the Caliente Handicap, since special weights would bo allotted the contenders, probably 1141 b, and the distance would be one mile. OFF TO AUSTRALIA. Ammon Ra, Prolyxo, and Closing Time were shipped for Sydney to-day by the Marama. —Auckland Press Association telegram.
