LECTURE BY ECONOMIC RECON* STRUCTOR. Dunedin citizens, interested in economic problems, will have a unique , opportunity on Tuesday nest of hearing an address by Professor Copland, who has played such an important part in the reconstruction of the Australian financial position. Not inerely has he given evidence before numerous commissions, but he was called upon by tho Loan Council to act with financiers and othe\ economists to prepare a special report This report, known as the Copland plan, became the basis for the proposals later accepted by the Australian States and the Commonwealth. No one really knows the in- / fUience that Professor Copland has exerted off Australian developments during recent years. After a career in New Zealand and Australia as lecturer in economics and adult education, Professo Copland reorganised the teaching of economics at Melbourne University, and has built up a faculty that has become famous.
