RAVENSBOURNE REGATTA
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting in connection with the Ravensbourne regatta was hold last evening. The Mayor of West Harbour (Mr T. H. Harridge) presided over a large attendance of residents. The Chairman, after expressing pleasure at the attendance, said that he felt'sure that this year’s regatta would be a success. These annual displays were always popular with both boating men and the general public. He hoped the residents of West Harbour would again give the committee every support. He pointed out the difficulties with which they were confronted, and trusted that all would put a shoulder to the wheel and work with a will. It was decided to hold a regatta on Saturday, February 21. The following officials were elected:—Commodore, Mr T. H. Harridge; vice-commodores —Messrs H. E. Moller, A. Carrington, Dr N. C. Speight, Messrs IV. H. Riddell, A. Burt, L. Sanderson, (1 W. Sundstrum, O. Martin, J. MTherson, W. Webber, A. D. Asher, and J. D. Cameron; chairman of committees, Mr W. Webber; secretary, Mr H. N. Trcurn; yacht handicappers, Messrs A. D. Asher and A. Grant; launch handicapper, Mr F. Barton; judges, Messrs H. A. George and A. E. Davys; model yachts— Messrs W. Carline, G. E. Kellett, and C. Booth; swimming, Messrs F. Mitchell and J. Baird. A strong committee was elected to draw up a programme. A request from the Dunedin Swimming Club to hold the E. H. James Harbour Cup race on regatta day at Ravensbourne was agreed to. It was decided to meet every Monday evening.
