SHIPPING
ARRIVED .—January 20. Port Melbourne, s.s (11.45 a.m.), 9,142 tons, J. Jack, from Bluff. RANGITATA HOMEWARD BOUND. The New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the Rangitata arrived at Panama on January 19, her due date. She is homeward bound, having left Wellington on December 31. KARAMEA FROM LONDON. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s motor ship Karamea arrived in the Lower Harbour yesterday afternoon from London via Panama and Suva, after an uneventful voyage. The vessel, after being granted pratique by the port health officer, was berthed at the George street wharf, Port Chalmers. She came to Dunedin to-day to discharge the local portion of her Home cargo at the Victoria wharf. The Karamea will sail hence for Lyttelton and Napier to complete discharge. PORT MELBOURNE LOADING. Having commenced her Homeward loading at Bluff, the C. and D. steamer Port Melbourne cam© to this port today, berthing at Port Chalmers to continue taking in meat, butter, cheese, and other produce. She completes at Picton, Wellington, Gisborne, and Auckland, _ sailing from Auckland for London via Montevideo. Passengers will be taken on the trip. Captain J. Jack commands the Port Melbourne, and his officers are;— Chief officer, Mr W. Bailey; second, Mr Pinkney; third, Mr G. Cooper; fourth, Mr W. M. Clough; chief, engineer, Mr T. M. Lockie; second,-Mr H. Cran; third, Mr H. J. Holding; fourth, Mr V. Julian; fifth, Mr J. Warley; sixth, Mr E. L. Jones; seventh; Mr L. Dodds; first refrigerating engineer, Mr P. Gibbons; second, Mr F. Doran; surgeon, Dr H.
