CATTLE BEARER-SHEEP AND PIGS CHEAPER > Fat Sheep.—A shade larger than last week, the total number being approximately 2,200, the fat sheep entry was conspicuous for its ewes, although there P'ere more nice Lauder wethers than usual. Prices for wethers opened at a drop of Is 6d a head on last week,: , and as the sale progressed a further, drop of Is a head had to bo accepted,’ The best primes brought from 21s 9d to 23s 6d, and light wethers froni 16s to 18s, working out at 3|d lb. Extra prime bullocks touched 30s a 1001 b, plain rough 26s to 27s Gd, and cows and heifers 20s to 255. The yarding of prime bullocks was much below last week’s in quality, thirty head of good heavy bullocks being penned, while a large number was rough and finished. The proportion of cows and heifers was larger than usual.; The best truck load was sent in by, Mr Beatie, “ Titiroa,” and brought (up to £l3. Pigs—There was a good quality yarding of porkers and bacon pigs, with tho top value for bacon standing at £2 10s. There was a drop of 10s a head on this class of pig compared to the ruling prices at tho last sale, while porkers ran out from £1 15s to £2, showing a docrease of 5s a head on last week. Bacon pigs were worth about 3|d lb, and porkers in the vicinity of 5Jd lb.
